On 20 September 2024, Pahang Go Sdn. Bhd. officially became Finexus’ MyXaaS Programme Partner, marked by a signing ceremony at Everly Hotel, Putrajaya.

As an e-Money issuer and PayNet’s DuitNow Direct Participant, Finexus will augment PahangGo app, with prepaid card e-Wallet and DuitNow payment services for its 500,000+ users.

Pahang Go Sdn. Bhd., tasked to implement Pahang State’s Digital Economy Blueprint, aims to transition all governmental services online by 2025. One of the instruments used will be the PahangGo app.

With users across all 11 districts of Pahang, the app has become a central platform for Pahang residents to manage payments such as road taxes, fines, parking fees, utilities, zakat, wakaf, and educational contributions.

“We are proud to support Pahang State’s mission in enhancing governmental payment infrastructure by implementing the full spectrum of DuitNow services on PahangGo app.

“DuitNow Request-to-Pay, for example, will help PahangGo users avoid late fees by sending payment request messages for taxes, summons and other statutory fees. Additionally, users can access their receipts and monthly statements, all on one app.

“The Pahang state, on the other hand, can easily track outstanding balances by districts or individuals for centralised account reconciliation, thereby increasing governmental revenue collection via streamlined processes,” said Clement Loh, Group CEO of Finexus.

Other upgrades include the ability to top up PahangGo e-Wallet from over 40 banks and e-Wallets, using DuitNow Online Banking Wallet (OBW), with e-Wallet size of RM3,000 or RM10,000 following an e-Wallet upgrade via e-KYC.

This e-KYC process, aligned with the Digital Pahang Plan 2021-2025, will also help verify and consolidate Pahang residents’ profile data from various governmental agencies, forming a more complete digital profile known as PahangID, which will further streamline governmental services for the rakyat.

Even more excitingly, PahangGo users will not only be able to make local QR payments to merchants in Malaysia, but also cross-border QR payments to Indonesia (QRIS), Singapore (NETS), Thailand (PromptPay), and China (Alipay) merchants using their respective country’s national QR.

Users can also apply for physical prepaid cards on the PahangGo app itself to use at Visa and/or Mastercard outlets worldwide and make cash withdrawals at ATMs.

These cards can be individually and directly managed on app, allowing users to freeze cards, set spending limits, change card PINs, and enable features like e-Commerce, overseas purchases, and contactless payments.

The PahangGo app holds significant potential for growth in serving the Pahang rakyat, with plans to extend services to include financial aid distribution, scholarship and education loan disbursement, micro-financing for MSME entrepreneurs, and micro-insurance for the public.

With the wide range of services PahangGo app will offer, Finexus looks forward to supporting the Pahang State in cultivating a cashless community culture.
