Global Vending Machine Trends Versus Malaysia

Following the global trend of rising vending machines, Malaysia vending machines market is expected to grow at a rapid pace from 2023 till 2029. This growth is particularly evident in the food and beverage (F&B) segment, followed by daily necessities.

Factors driving the F&B vending machines in Malaysia are the increased preference for on-the-go dining solutions, 24/7 availability, and easy accessibility without the hassle of crowded stores

As for payment methods, the global vending machine market has witnessed a marked shift towards going cashless, with around 67% of purchases in 2022 being made using cashless payment options.

In line with these trends, many vending operators in Malaysia are also adopting cashless and touchless vending machines, especially driven by shifts in consumer behaviour following the pandemic.

Looking ahead, smart innovations such as AI-driven personalisation, real-time inventory management, and eco-friendly designs are set to revolutionise the vending machine market in Malaysia.

Notably, the Malaysian government has also capitalised on this trend by setting an ambitious target to procure 5,000 vending machines to create income-generating opportunities, with 100 machines already operational as of July last year.
